In Which Your Hunger For Information Is Satisfied / Tuesday, April 25, 2006

I know what you're thinking: "Where's Pete? Is everything alright?"

Well I'm here to answer your questions and stop you from panicking!

I'm doing good, still working as a tile-setter, but that's going to have to change soon. New Orleans is too far to go every day, because of $3.00 a gallon gas and Ash's situation, which I'll tell you about in a bit.

So I'm looking for a new career, or at least I will be soon. I figure I can go to some of the oil refineries around here, there must be some job stability there (because of $3.00 a gallon fuel) and they have good benefits and there are some just down the road from us.

Toby is doing great, he's started eating solid food, it was funny the first couple of times, he would just spit it straight back out, but now he's opening his mouth and grabbing the spoon.

Ash is depressed. It's not post-partum anymore it's clinical, which is a good thing because she knows she loves Toby. She can't handle being with Toby all the time though, and she thinks a job would be too stressful. She's seeing a counselor who is actually going to to take Ash back and try and find the source of her depression, which is good, no-one has tried doing that with her before.

Here's an example of God working: I went on a men's retreat this weekend, and told them about our situation. There was a doctor there, and he said that there was a way to fix the chemical imbalance that causes depression. It's a pretty new thing but basically it uses amino acids to restore the chemicals. He said he would give me a test that we can send off and he'll pay for it. It cost $155. I only me the guy for the first time on Friday evening, by Saturday evening he was helping me out. God made sure that we were together to talk about this. Praise Him!

Also some of my friends from church said they were going to look out for work for me, which is very helpful. These guys gave me what they could. There was on of them who's a massage therapist, and he said that he would give me and/or Ash a massage for free, another guy said that we could go over to his place for dinner, another one said he and his wife would take care of Toby for a night. It's good to see Gods love in action.

Ok, dinners ready. Toodle-oo!
