InWhich I Find Something I Want To Share With You All / Saturday, May 20, 2006

Okay boys and girls, I haven't really been up to much new, so no real news to tell. Joe did cook some excellent steaks tonight, and Toby is still as cute as ever.

So the real reason for this post is that I wanted to share something that is really cool if you like footie (soccer) and are looking forward to the World Cup. It's a spreadsheet made by someone who loves football and has way too much time on their hands. It's probably the most comprehensive wall chart and schedule that you'll be able to find.

You need Exel to run it.

Laters dudes!

In Which Ash And I Do Something That At First Glance Seems A Little Crazy / Wednesday, May 17, 2006

We bought a car. This one:

But green instead. It cost about $16,000 and it's brand spanking new, 23 miles on the clock. I know what you're thinking "Pete! You're crazy! You and Ash are both unemployed!" Well maybe, but here's the reasoning: We were driving a big truck with a 4.6L V6 in it, and we're now driving a mid-size car with a 2.0L V4. We were spending $450+ on fuel every month, and now we should be spending closer to $200. The payments on the car are about $250 a month. Have you done the math there? Also, tires are cheaper, oil changes are cheaper, we now have a car under warrenty (100,000 mile, 10 year) rather than a truck which - lets face it - is on it's way to the scrap heap pretty soon. (150,000 miles on an American car means it's definatly on the decline) Also having a boot (trunk) is marvelous! We can put the stroller somewhere apart from in the passenger seat. A pick up is useful for hauling stuff around in, and maybe kind of cool looking, but that's about it really. We can put groceries in the boot! Ohh... That's exciting!

Oh, in case you're wondering what kind of car it is it's a Hyundai Elantra. You can see more pictures and info here if you want: http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/elantra/elantra.aspx
For sone reasn they only seem to have pictures of the five door (hatchback) and not the four door (saloon) which is what we've got.

Anyhow, I just thought you'd like to know about that.

In Which I Find Some Time To Write A Little / Monday, May 15, 2006

Hold on... I have to read my last entry to work out what I've already told you about... Alright.

I'm no longer a tile setter. Ash's depression got really bad so I had to quit before I had another job. The bad side of this is that I now have the stress of being broke, but the up side is that Ash is doing better with me being here more. Obviously the pros outweigh the cons. I just had an interview today for a job as a driver delivering truck (18 Wheeler) parts. I don't know if I'll get it, because I asked for more than they were willing to pay (I don't want to be living at the in-laws forever you know!)

Toby is doing great. You can go to this website http://www.dropshots.com/adspencer and look at some videos. I find them very interesting, you might not though... He actually does stuff in the later ones. The ones on Thursday the 11th are probably the most interesting. You'll have to email me so I can give you the password first (those of you that I email this to anyhow will see the password somewhere near the top). He's being very noisy. He likes it when I make faces at him. He'll squeal and laugh. At last someone who appreciates my comic genius!

Ash is doing much better, in fact I think she's going to start looking for a job. I hope she is anyhow, because with a degree she'll be able to make more than I can make doing a blue coller job.

Apartments are no longer cheap here, it's about $600ish for a two bedroom townhouse, about a year ago it was $450. Katrina? Possibly.

I've recorded some more songs, I guess I'll put them on the website sometime. It doesn't really bother me if you listen to them or not, it's just good to know you can listen to them if you want to. It's kind of depressing playing to an audience of one. Makes me wonder what the point is. Oh right, my sanity. And it keeps me busy.

Gosh, not really very much interesting has happened to me. Oh well. I guess that's it. Take care dudes!
