In Which I'm Back In The Saddle Again / Wednesday, July 26, 2006
It's been a wild ride, but it's time I got back on this old horse right? After all I do spend most of my time sitting round twiddling my thumbs.... (That's sarcasm by the way. It doesn't seem to work so well in writing). The real reason I'm doing this right now is because the web service we use for the paci business isn't working right now. Oh it is now.
Ok, it's stopped working again. It let me get one invoice printed out though. Woohoo! Only another 10(ish) to go!
So since the last time I wrote lots has happened. In no particular order:
Toby is crawling. In fact as I write he is crawling around by my feet; trying to get into everything. It's fun watching him explore but it is pretty much all I do. Apart from the vacuuming. I have to vacuum every day now otherwise he gets his hands all dirty, and his hands go into his mouth. It's a never win battle.
He also kind of says "daddy" now, but it's by accident i think. Still occasional he'll look me straight in my eyes and say it. It's the best thing in the world (so far).
Ash is working. I told you about that though didn't I? Well it's going relatively well.
Craig my brother-in-law came down from Seattle. It was good to see him. We spent a lot of time drinking and playing pool (and I spent a lot of time not getting much sleep) Cresta (sis-in-law) was down here for a while. She's getting a divorce and she came down here to clear her head. She's supposed to be coming back again sometime soon, but her and Dianne (my mother-in-law) don't really get on too well, so it's not really the best place for her to be clearing her head.
I have to great cousins now. That is my cousins had babies. I'm sure they should be referred to as something else, but I think that they're great!
My sister just walked 100km non-stop in 28 hours, and has blisters to prove it. I am very proud to have such an insane relative who would've done something that stupid.
Joe (father-in-law) just bought a car. A brand new Kia. If you know Joe this is a great surprise. The Blazer is still sitting out there. It'll be gone soon though I'm sure.
I have a job interview at BASF to work at one of their chemical plants. I have already done the individual exam and the team assessment. This is the final step. My interview is on Friday. It's not like I am really looking for work anymore, but this was just a go along and see what happens thing. It's a good job though. It has good benefits and pay. It'd be three 12 hour shifts a week (I think) so we'd only have to work out care for Toby for three days. I don't think the job will be starting until the end of the year and we were thinking about putting Toby in daycare when he's a year old anyhow. So that's good news.
Well I think that's about it, you're all up to date now. I'm sorry there's nothing of any real detail or anything, but It's an awful lot to catch up on in such a short amount of time. I'll try and write more regulary in future. Here's a bit of excitement for you:
